The official language in Colombia is Spanish. It’s spoken everywhere, though each region has its own accent and expressions. Colombian Spanish is known for being clear and pleasant to listen to. Indigenous languages are still used by small communities, especially in rural areas. English is taught in schools and used in tourism, but Spanish dominates daily life. Learning a few Spanish words or phrases will make travel much smoother. The language plays a big part in Colombia’s lively music, culture, and traditions.
