The official language of the Republic of the Congo is French. It’s used in government, education, and media throughout the country. Lingala and Kituba are also widely spoken as national languages in daily communication. Many people are bilingual, using French in formal settings and local languages at home. English is not very common, but you might hear it in tourism or international business. Learning some French phrases will help a lot when visiting.
