Afghanistan is known for exporting high-quality dried fruits like raisins, apricots, and figs, which have been part of its trade culture for centuries. The country also produces some of the world’s most prized saffron, often praised for its deep color and strong aroma. Afghan carpets and hand-woven rugs remain top exports, valued for their craftsmanship and traditional patterns. Pine nuts, especially the high-demand chilgoza variety, are another major product shipped worldwide. While agriculture dominates exports, the country also has large untapped reserves of minerals like lithium and copper. Many small producers rely on traditional farming methods, giving Afghan goods a unique, authentic character. Despite challenges, Afghanistan’s export scene continues to grow slowly and steadily.
