The Maldives primarily export fish products, especially tuna, which is the backbone of its export economy. The country also produces dried fish, canned seafood, and fishmeal. While its economy is driven mainly by tourism, the Maldives exports limited agricultural products such as coconuts and related goods. Handicrafts, including lacquer work and traditional woven items, contribute modestly to exports. Due to limited natural resources, the Maldives focuses heavily on high-quality seafood production.
