Libya is primarily known for exporting crude oil, which makes up nearly all of its national income. The country also ships out refined petroleum products when its refineries are fully operational. Natural gas contributes to its energy exports as well. Libya’s agriculture sector is small, so food exports are very limited. The nation produces some chemicals linked to the oil industry. Political instability affects trade, but energy remains the backbone. Overall, Libya’s exports are almost entirely centered on oil and gas.
