Mali is known for exporting gold, which is by far its biggest and most valuable export. The country also produces and exports cotton, making it one of West Africa’s top cotton producers. Livestock products such as cattle, sheep, and goats contribute to regional trade. Mali exports shea butter and gum arabic, both of which come from traditional rural production. Despite economic challenges, agriculture and natural resources remain central to Mali’s export economy.
