Jacksonian Democracy was basically a political movement built around giving more power to regular voters. It pushed ideas like expanding voting rights to more white men and limiting the influence of wealthy elites in government. Jackson and his supporters argued that politicians should listen to the masses, not just elite circles. This changed how campaigns were run, making politics more public and energetic. It also helped reshape the Democratic Party into something closer to what it later became. Even though it didn’t expand rights for everyone, it marked a major shift in how political power was distributed. A lot of modern political strategy still traces back to Jacksonian ideas.
