What was Michael Jackson’s family like?

Michael grew up in a big household in Gary, Indiana, with nine siblings. His dad, Joseph, was known to be strict, pushing the kids hard into music practice and rehearsals. His mom, Katherine, was gentle, supportive, and very religious, and she played a huge role in grounding the family. Most of his brothers and sisters also went into show business in one form or another. Even with the fame, there were still real-life family ups and downs, just amplified by the spotlight. Over the years, Michael bought Neverland Ranch partly to create a space he never had growing up. He wanted somewhere calm and fun where he could escape from pressure.
