How did Harrison Ford start his acting career?

Ford began acting in small TV roles and minor film parts during the 1960s. Casting directors didn’t immediately see him as a star, so he often struggled to get big roles. While working as a carpenter, he met George Lucas, who later cast him in *American Graffiti*. This film gave Ford his first real boost in Hollywood. Lucas eventually cast him again as Han Solo in *Star Wars*, which exploded his career. After that, Ford became one of the most in-demand leading men in the world. His career proves that persistence and patience really pay off.
