Most travellers to Uganda need a visa before entering the country, and visitors should check the specific requirements for their nationality before planning a trip. Uganda offers an electronic visa system (eVisa) that allows tourists to apply online and receive approval before travel. A valid passport with at least six months’ validity beyond the planned stay is required. You will also need proof of yellow fever vaccination, as this is mandated for entry. Some nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival, but it’s usually recommended to secure an eVisa in advance to avoid delays. There are options such as single-entry or multiple-entry visas, and the East African Tourist Visa allows travel between Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda. Always consult official sources for the most current rules and fees.
