Prudential Center is a big indoor arena in downtown Newark, New Jersey, known to locals simply as “The Rock” because of its iconic name and presence in the city. It opened in 2007 and quickly became one of the top places in the NYC/NJ area for sports, concerts, and all kinds of live events. The arena is the home of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils and hosts college basketball games for the Seton Hall Pirates, plus major concerts and touring shows throughout the year. You’ll also see other sports like lacrosse, pro women’s hockey, and even special events like UFC or wrestling shows on its packed schedule. With a central location just steps from Newark Penn Station, it draws fans from New Jersey, New York, and beyond. The building has lots of amenities for fans, including premium seating, concessions, and club areas. It’s a major entertainment hub for the region and one of the busiest arenas on the East Coast.
