What’s the bag and security policy at Capital One Arena?

Capital One Arena has a pretty strict bag policy to help keep entry safe and fast for everyone. Bags, backpacks, and purses aren’t allowed inside unless they’re wallet-size clutches no larger than 5″ by 7″, or approved medical or parenting bags that are up to 14″ x 14″ x 6″ — and even those have to be screened. Security staff will check all guests and belongings with visual and metal detectors before you’re allowed in. Prohibited items include weapons, outside food and drink, coolers, noise makers, selfie sticks, and recording devices, among other things. If you bring something that isn’t allowed, staff can refuse it and you won’t be able to check it or store it there. Arriving early and knowing the rules helps make getting through security way easier. Always check specific event policies too, because sometimes there are extra rules for concerts.
