Northwest Stadium hosts a wide variety of events beyond Washington Commanders games. Over the years, the venue has welcomed major concerts by famous international artists. It has also hosted international soccer matches featuring top clubs and national teams. College football games and special events like the Army–Navy game have taken place there as well. The stadium was even used during the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Large-scale rugby matches and other sporting events have occasionally been scheduled at the venue too. Because of its size and location near Washington, D.C., it is one of the region’s biggest entertainment venues.
