When was Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium built?

The stadium officially opened in 1924 and hosted its first football game that year. When it first opened, the venue could hold about 27,000 fans. As college football grew in popularity, the stadium went through many expansions. Major upgrades happened in the 1940s, 1960s, and again in the late 1990s and 2000s. Large renovation projects also took place from 2006 to 2009 and again from 2019 to 2021. These improvements added seating, modern facilities, and updated fan areas. Even after a century of changes, the stadium remains the historic home of Texas Longhorns football.
