Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium is located in Austin, Texas, on the campus of the University of Texas. The stadium sits at 405 East 23rd Street near the southeast corner of the campus. It has been the home of the Texas Longhorns football team since it opened in 1924. The stadium is surrounded by other university buildings and popular game-day spots around Austin. On fall Saturdays, the entire campus area fills with Longhorns fans wearing burnt orange. Many fans walk from nearby neighborhoods, restaurants, and parking areas to reach the stadium. Because of its central location in Austin, it is one of the most recognizable sports venues in Texas.
