What is Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium?

The official playing surface inside Jordan-Hare Stadium is called Pat Dye Field. Pat Dye was a legendary Auburn head coach and athletics director who led the Tigers from 1981 to 1992. During his time as coach, Auburn won multiple SEC championships and became a national powerhouse. In 2005, the university honored him by naming the field after him. The full official name of the venue today is Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Dye also played a big role in expanding the stadium and growing Auburn’s football program. Because of his impact on the school, many Auburn fans see the field name as a tribute to one of the program’s most influential leaders.
