How many people can Kinnick Stadium hold?

Kinnick Stadium currently has a seating capacity of about 69,250 fans for football games. Over the years the capacity changed several times as the stadium expanded and later upgraded its seating. Earlier renovations pushed the capacity above 70,000 before some modern improvements slightly reduced it. Recent projects added premium seating areas, club seats, and upgraded fan spaces. Even with a slightly smaller capacity today, the stadium still ranks among the largest university-owned stadiums in the United States. When it’s full on a fall Saturday, the atmosphere becomes extremely loud and energetic. Many fans say the noise level gives the Hawkeyes a real home-field advantage.
