What other events have taken place at Kinnick Stadium?

Although the stadium is mainly used for Iowa Hawkeyes football, it has hosted a few other major events as well. One of the most notable happened in 2023 when the venue hosted a women’s college basketball game between Iowa and DePaul. That outdoor game drew more than 55,000 fans and set a record for the largest attendance ever at a women’s basketball game. The stadium also hosts special ceremonies and university events from time to time. Its large seating capacity and open layout make it suitable for big gatherings. Still, football remains the main attraction every fall. The stadium continues to be a centerpiece of sports culture in Iowa City.
