LaVell Edwards Stadium is a college football stadium on the campus of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and it’s where the BYU Cougars play their home games. The stadium opened in 1964 and has since become one of the most iconic venues in the Mountain West region for college football. It sits right next to the mountains, giving fans a scenic backdrop whether they’re watching in person or on TV. With a seating capacity of over 63,000, it’s big enough to host huge crowds for rivalry games and big weekend matchups. On fall Saturdays the parking lots and tailgates fill up early with fans decked out in BYU blue and white. The place is named after legendary coach LaVell Edwards, who led the program to tons of success and is still a beloved figure in Cougars history. Whether you’re a local or visiting for a game, the energy around the stadium is a big part of game‑day culture in Provo.
