How big is Leech Lake and how deep does it get?

Leech Lake is the third largest lake entirely within Minnesota’s borders. It spans roughly 112,000 acres, making it a massive body of water. The deepest part is in Walker Bay, where depths can reach over 150 feet. However, most of the lake is actually much shallower, with large areas under 35 feet deep. The average depth is around 20 feet in many sections. Because of this, conditions can change quickly with wind and weather. Its mix of deep and shallow areas makes it great for both fishing and boating.
