It officially opened in March 2022 and quickly became a global engineering landmark. The bridge is famous because it has the longest main span of any suspension bridge in the world at 2,023 meters. It connects the European and Asian sides of Turkey, making travel much faster and easier. Before it opened, people mostly relied on ferries to cross the strait.
