Where is The Met located and how do you get there?

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, usually called The Met, is located on Fifth Avenue along Central Park in Manhattan, New York City. The museum’s main entrance sits at 1000 Fifth Avenue on the Upper East Side. Most visitors use the subway, buses, taxis, or rideshare services because Manhattan traffic can be very busy. The closest subway stations are along the 4, 5, and 6 train lines, followed by a short walk through the neighborhood. Many tourists also combine a museum visit with time in Central Park because the locations are right next to each other. The museum is easy to spot because of its massive staircase and famous front entrance. Arriving earlier in the day usually helps avoid the biggest crowds and longest ticket lines.
