Is the Gaza Strip part of Israel or Palestine?

The Gaza Strip is internationally recognized as part of the Palestinian territories, along with the West Bank. It is not part of Israel, although Israel withdrew its settlers and military presence from Gaza in 2005. Despite this withdrawal, Israel maintains control over Gaza's airspace, maritime borders, and most land crossings.
