What is the Gaza Strip?

The Gaza Strip is a narrow piece of land located along the eastern Mediterranean coast, bordered by Israel to the north and east, Egypt to the southwest, and the Mediterranean Sea to the west. It is approximately 25 miles (40 km) long and 7 miles (11 km) wide. Gaza is home to over 2 million Palestinians and is one of the most densely populated areas in the world.
