Yes, there are special attractions that allow visitors to go behind or near the base of the falls. On the Canadian side, the "Journey Behind the Falls" tour takes visitors through tunnels to observation decks behind Horseshoe Falls. The experience offers a unique view of the water crashing down from a close and dramatic angle. Similar walkways and viewing platforms exist on the American side as well.
