Crimea’s population is estimated to be around 2.3 million people. The largest ethnic groups are Russians, followed by Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars. The Tatars are indigenous to the peninsula but faced deportation during the Soviet era, with many returning after Ukraine’s independence. Russian is the most widely spoken language, though Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar are also present. The population is concentrated in cities like Simferopol, Sevastopol, and Yalta.
