What materials were used to build Tower Bridge?

Tower Bridge was constructed using over 11,000 tons of steel, which forms the framework of the towers and walkways. The steel structure was then clad in Cornish granite and Portland stone to give it a more elegant and traditional appearance. This was done to ensure the bridge blended in with the historical surroundings of the Tower of London. The design combined strength with architectural beauty. Today, the materials remain a testament to Victorian engineering.
