Summer (December to February) is the peak season—warm weather, long days, and perfect for beaches. Autumn (March to May) is cooler and less crowded, with awesome fall colors in the South Island. Winter (June to August) is ski season, especially in Queenstown and Wanaka. Spring (September to November) means wildflowers, baby lambs, and milder weather. Honestly, there’s no bad time—it just depends on what you want to do.
