The main language is Bangla (or Bengali), and it’s spoken by the vast majority of the population. People are super proud of their language because it has a powerful history tied to independence and identity. You’ll also find English widely used in schools, universities, and businesses, especially in cities. So travelers who speak English usually manage just fine. In rural areas though, English is less common, so knowing a few Bangla words goes a long way.
