Cricket is by far the number one sport in Bangladesh, and the whole country tunes in when the national team plays. You’ll also find football (soccer) being loved, especially in the rural areas. Kabaddi, a traditional sport, is actually the national game but it doesn’t get as much hype as cricket nowadays. Street kids play cricket everywhere with sticks and makeshift balls. Big cricket wins usually turn into huge street celebrations across the cities.
