Penalty revolution approaching: New law that will change the face of football

Colina and Infantino promote a move that will prohibit scoring from the rebound after a missed penalty. A goalie's stop will immediately lead to a five-pointer

Will there soon be no more "second chance penalties"? FIFA is planning exactly this historic change. According to reports, the world football federation is planning a "penalty revolution", in which attempts to score from the rebound will be prohibited.

What this means in practice: If a goalkeeper stops a penalty kick from 11 meters, a five-pointer will immediately be whistled - regardless of where the ball bounced.

This means that kickers will only have one chance to score, and teammates will not be able to correct missed shots. According to Bild, yellow cards for entering the box early will also no longer be given.

It is still unclear what will happen if the ball hits the crossbar or the crossbar without the goalkeeper touching it.

It is important to note: The change must first be approved by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), which is the only body authorized to change or repeal football laws.
