Compared to Europe or the Caribbean, Cape Verde is fairly affordable, though prices vary by island. Sal and Boa Vista can be pricey due to resorts and imported goods, but local restaurants and guesthouses keep costs manageable. Inter-island flights and taxis can add up since public transport is limited, so plan ahead. Food and local beer are pretty cheap, especially if you eat where locals go. You can easily find mid-range hotels for good value, and street food is fresh and tasty. Most travelers say they get solid comfort without breaking the bank. It’s not backpacker-cheap, but definitely more budget-friendly than big-name islands like the Canaries.
