Did movies make the coin-tossing tradition into Trevi fountain a big deal?

For sure! While the idea of tossing coins in water is an old pagan tradition, the modern ritual we know and love was really popularized by the 1954 movie Three Coins in the Fountain. And of course, Federico Fellini’s 1960 film La Dolce Vita cemented the fountain's iconic, romantic status forever with that famous late-night dip.
