Antigua and Barbuda uses the East Caribbean dollar, written as XCD. This currency is shared with several other islands in the region, which makes traveling between them super easy. It’s pegged to the U.S. dollar, so its value stays pretty stable. Most locals use cash for daily things, but credit cards work well in hotels and tourist spots. You’ll see colorful bills with local scenery and Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait on them. U.S. dollars are also widely accepted, especially in resort areas. The East Caribbean dollar helps keep trade and tourism flowing smoothly among the islands.
