The official language of Saudi Arabia is Arabic. Modern Standard Arabic is used in government, media, and education, while Saudi Arabic is spoken in daily life. English is widely taught and used in business and tourism. Some expatriates also speak Urdu, Hindi, and Tagalog. Arabic is written in the Arabic script, which is read from right to left. Learning a few basic Arabic phrases is appreciated by locals. The language reflects Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage and Islamic traditions.
