Did Einstein help create the atomic bomb?

Einstein didn’t build the bomb, but he indirectly helped it happen. In 1939, he signed a letter to U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt warning that Nazi Germany might try to build nuclear weapons. That pushed the government to start the Manhattan Project. Einstein wasn’t allowed to work on it because officials thought he was too politically unpredictable. He later regretted how his warning led to nuclear warfare, even though his intention was peace.
