Darwin died in 1882 at age 73, after spending decades researching and writing. He passed away in his home in Kent, surrounded by family and close friends. Even though many people had argued with him, by the end of his life the scientific community respected him deeply. Instead of being buried in a small local cemetery, he was laid to rest in Westminster Abbey, near Isaac Newton. That says a lot about how society eventually valued his work. His legacy didn’t fade — it only grew stronger. Today, his name is everywhere in biology and science history.
