Governors Island is free to enter once you arrive. You only need to pay for the ferry ticket. On some mornings, ferry rides are free for everyone. Special events may have their own fees. Walking around the island costs nothing. Many activities and installations are also free. It’s one of the most budget-friendly spots in New York City.
