Snowboarding at the 2026 Winter Olympics will take place in Livigno Snow Park in the Italian Alps, a high-altitude venue northwest of Milan that’s hosting all snowboard and freeski events from February 5 to February 18, 2026. There are 11 medal events planned, with disciplines including big air, halfpipe, slopestyle, snowboard cross, parallel giant slalom, and a mixed team snowboard cross event bringing both individual and team competition to the Games. Big air competitions kick things off early in the schedule, where athletes launch off massive jumps to land technical tricks judged on difficulty, height, and style. Halfpipe and slopestyle events showcase riders’ creativity and aerial skills, with judges scoring runs on execution, amplitude, and progression. Snowboard cross is a head-to-head race down a course of jumps and banked turns, while parallel giant slalom pits two riders in side-by-side elimination races. Many top snowboarders from the World Cup circuit will compete for Olympic medals, although some stars like Chloe Kim have faced injury questions in the lead-up to the Games. Livigno’s snow park and course setups are being prepared despite early weather and snow-making challenges, but organizers report progress and contingency plans to ensure readiness. With its mix of speed, style, and spectacle, snowboarding remains one of the most popular and youth-appealing sports in the Winter Olympics.
