Team France at the 2026 Winter Olympics

Team France is set to compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, with a delegation of 99 athletes across eight sports, aiming to build on its strong winter sport tradition. France will participate in alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, figure skating, ice hockey, short-track speed skating, ski mountaineering, and speed skating.

The French biathlon team is one of France’s strongest medal hopes, featuring experienced stars like Quentin Fillon Maillet and rising talents such as Éric Perrot and Lou Jeanmonnot, all coming off competitive World Cup seasons. France aims to score big in individual, sprint, pursuit, and relay biathlon events.

In figure skating, France boasts big names including Adam Siao Him Fa, Kevin Aymoz, and the newly formed ice dance pair Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry, who bring world-class experience and serious medal potential.

The French ice hockey teams are making history: both the men’s and women’s squads earned Olympic spots, with coaches naming veterans like Stéphane Da Costa and other seasoned players to lead the charge as the nation competes in hockey on the Olympic stage again.

France will also field strong skiers such as Clément Noël, the defending Olympic slalom champion who’s expected to challenge for medals in alpine events, even as the alpine team faces depth tests after recent World Championships results.

In cross-country skiing and ski mountaineering, France’s squad combines established performers and promising newcomers aiming to make waves in endurance and mountain racing. Meanwhile, the speed skating effort includes a record number of qualified skaters aiming for finals and podiums based on strong World Cup results.

Despite recent setbacks — such as Tess Ledeux’s injury ruling her out of freestyle skiing events — France enters the Games with top-10 and medal ambitions and a goal to finish in the Olympic medal table’s upper ranks.

With a mix of veterans, rising stars, and historic team entries, Team France is one of the most compelling national teams at Milano Cortina 2026, aiming for medals across ice, snow, and mountain disciplines.
