What is Phil’s Burrow in Punxsutawney?

Phil’s Burrow is the year-round home of the famous weather-predicting groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, and his family in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. It’s basically a climate-controlled habitat built into the Punxsutawney Memorial Library where fans can peek in through big windows to see Phil chill, nap, or eat. The burrow lets visitors get a close look at Phil and sometimes his partner Phyllis and their babies without disturbing them. It’s one of the most popular attractions in this small town known for Groundhog Day each February 2nd. You don’t need a ticket to stop by — just stroll up and take a look from outside or inside when the library’s open. Folks love snapping pics of Phil lounging around, even if he’s just sleeping most of the time. It’s a fun, quirky roadside stop for families and Groundhog Day fans from all over.
