What’s the weather like in Pyongyang?

Pyongyang has a continental climate, which means it sees big differences between seasons with cold winters and warm summers. Winters can be really chilly, with temperatures often below freezing and snow covering streets and monuments, making the city look pretty unique in winter. When spring arrives, the weather quickly warms up, and visitors can enjoy blossoms and clearer skies before summer humidity arrives. Summer months are generally warm with occasional thunderstorms as the monsoon influences the region. In autumn, you get cooler mornings and crisp air, which lots of people find really pleasant for walking around. Because of these swings, the best times to visit for milder weather are usually spring and autumn. Snowy winters give the city a dramatic look, while summers add a very different, lively feel.
