Has the LA Memorial Coliseum hosted the Olympic Games?

Yes, the LA Memorial Coliseum has played a big role in Olympic history. It hosted major events during the 1932 Summer Olympics and again during the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Track and field competitions and opening and closing ceremonies were held there during those Games. The stadium will also be used again during the 2028 Olympics, making it the first venue ever to host events at three different Olympic Games. That record makes it one of the most historically important Olympic stadiums in the world. The Olympic torch above the stadium entrance became one of its most recognizable features. Because of this history, the Coliseum is considered a symbol of Los Angeles sports culture.
