The LA Memorial Coliseum has hosted an incredible variety of major events for more than a century. The very first Super Bowl in NFL history was played there in 1967. Another Super Bowl was held at the stadium a few years later as well. It also hosted games during the 1959 World Series when the Dodgers were using the venue. Beyond sports, the Coliseum has welcomed huge concerts from famous artists and massive public events. Political rallies, religious gatherings, and cultural celebrations have also filled the stadium. Because it can handle such huge crowds, it’s often chosen for landmark moments in sports and entertainment history.
