Legion Field hosts a wide variety of big sports and entertainment events throughout the year, so it’s not just used for one thing. One of the biggest annual games is the Magic City Classic, which brings huge crowds to see Alabama A&M and Alabama State face off in one of the biggest HBCU football classics in the nation. Beyond that, the stadium has hosted historic college rivalry games like the Iron Bowl over many decades. It’s also been home to various bowl games, high school championships, and sporting showcases. Outside of football, concerts and community festivals bring people together in the stands and on the field. Even Olympic soccer matches took place here back in 1996, which is a fun memory for sports fans. So whether you’re into football, music, or community events, there’s usually something happening at Legion Field.
