Nationwide protests target Trump’s redistricting push

Organizers held more than 300 demonstrations across the country, criticizing Republican efforts to secure favorable maps ahead of the 2026 midterms. Progressive groups, unions, and voting-rights coalitions coordinated marches in swing suburbs and big cities. Speakers warned that newly drawn lines could dilute minority voting power. GOP officials defended their plans as lawful and responsive to population shifts. Lawsuits are expected to proliferate in multiple states over the coming months. Protest leaders vowed rolling actions, voter-registration drives, and legal challenges.
