Mount Everest reaches an official height of 8,848.86 meters (29,031.7 feet) above sea level, making it the tallest mountain on Earth. Its height was confirmed by a 2020 survey conducted jointly by Nepal and China. The mountain’s elevation can vary slightly due to snow, ice, and geological activity. Climbing to the summit requires specialized equipment and acclimatization to avoid altitude sickness. Its extraordinary height is one of the main challenges for climbers.
