In tourist zones, hotels, and younger crowds, you’ll hear plenty of English. Older generations may lean on Albanian or Italian, and in the north you might catch some Serbian or Montenegrin too. Learning a couple of phrases—“Faleminderit” (thank you) and “Tungjatjeta” (hello)—goes a long way. People are patient and friendly even if you’re pointing and smiling your way through the conversation. Restaurant menus often come in English in popular areas. Worst case, Google Translate plus a good attitude solves most things.
