The Jordan River starts up in the mountains of Lebanon and Syria, with streams coming down into the Sea of Galilee. From there, it flows all the way south until it empties into the Dead Sea. The river isn’t super long, just about 150 miles, but it’s one of the most famous rivers in the world. Along the way, it forms part of the border between Israel, Jordan, and the West Bank. Even though it’s not huge, it’s loaded with history and meaning.
