Togo uses the West African CFA franc, written as XOF. It’s a shared currency with several other West African countries. Banknotes feature cultural symbols, historic landmarks, and national leaders. Cash is widely used, especially in local markets, while cards are mainly accepted in Lomé and larger towns. The CFA franc is pegged to the euro, keeping its value stable. ATMs and banks are mostly available in major cities. The CFA franc helps Togo maintain economic stability and regional trade.
